Patrick Rush has been named CEO of Triad Financial Advisors. He succeeds Carter W. Leinster, who founded Triad Financial Advisors in 1982 and will remain with TFA as the President. Patrick and Carter merged companies in 2012 with the intention of implementing a succession plan that will allow TFA to continue to grow and thrive. “Carter has always had a strong desire to ensure TFA clients would continue to be very well served by a highly competent team who maintains the highest of standards. This has been an extremely smooth transition and has provided great stability and certainty for our clients and staff,” said Rush.
Patrick has been providing financial planning and investment advice since 1998. In 2002 he became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He is an Investment Advisor Representative of TFA and also maintains the Chartered Life Underwriter® designation.
Prior to the merger with TFA in 2012, Patrick was the President of Independent Wealth Management. He previously served as a Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch. Patrick also authored Retirement 101 and is an adjunct instructor of this course at Guilford College.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Markets & Trading at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he graduated with honors and competed in baseball. He earned his MBA in Finance from the Stuart School of Business in Chicago.
Patrick resides in Greensboro, NC with his wife, Christina, their daughter, Havana, and twin sons, Walker and Quincy. He is passionately involved with the local chapter of the March of Dimes while also participating in the Chamber of Commerce 2015-16 Leadership Greensboro program.
Triad Financial Advisors recently received two prestigious awards. Carter W. Leinster, President of TFA, was listed in Barron’s magazine on March 5, 2016 as part of their annual list of “America’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors: State-by-State.” This is the sixth time Carter Leinster has been recognized by the publication.*
Triad Financial Advisors was recently designated as one of the Top Ten Financial Advisors in Greensboro, Chapel Hill and Winston-Salem, NC. The award is from AdvisoryHQ, which is one of the fastest-growing review and ranking news media organizations for the investment and financial advisory industries.**
*Factors included in the rankings: assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work. Investment performance isn’t an explicit component because not all advisors have audited results and because performance figures often are influenced more by clients’ risk tolerance than by an advisor’s investment-picking abilities.
** To generate a more reflective award ranking of the top advisors and investment managers, AdvisoryHQ went beyond just analyzing AUM, revenue, and the size of an advisory firm. AdvisoryHQ developed a breakthrough “Top-Down Advisor Selection Methodology” that is based on a wide range of filters including fiduciary duty, independence, transparency, level of customized service, history of innovation, fee structure, quality of services provided, team excellence, and wealth of experience.
